We work among people experiencing begging, poverty, and social exclusion, helping individuals and families move from dependency toward dignity, self-reliance, and a better future.
Who Are We?
A Journey of Faith, Service, and Transformation
The story of New Life Fellowship Association, Kolkata began in 1991, when James E. Roxburgh and his family moved from Mumbai to Kolkata with a vision to serve and bring hope to people in need.
James and Margaret invited Rathin Chatterjee to join them in ministry in Kolkata. Together they began their work in central Kolkata, reaching out to vulnerable communities and gradually expanding their ministry across different parts of West Bengal.
Our Early Years
From 1991 to 1998, we worked under the Mumbai New Life Fellowship. During these formative years, the ministry grew through relationships, community outreach, and a deep commitment to serving people who were often overlooked by society.
As the work expanded, the need for an independent organization became clear. New Life Fellowship Association, Kolkata, was subsequently registered as a separate legal entity and established as a self-governing public society under the Societies Registration Act, 1961.
Growing Across Communities
What began as a small ministry in central Kolkata has grown into a wider network of community-based centers. Today, our work extends through centers including Central Kolkata, Picnic Garden, Shyamnagar, Bhadreswar, B.B. Hall, Sanai, Dum Dum, Howrah and other locations.
Our journey over the years has been built on one simple conviction: Every person matters, every family deserves hope, and every life has the potential for transformation. Through the dedication of our social workers, coordinators, volunteers, and supporters, we continue to walk alongside vulnerable families, helping them move toward dignity, self-reliance, education, and a better future.

From our humble beginnings in 1991 to the growing ministry we have today, God has faithfully led us through every season. We remain committed to the same calling: serving people with love, restoring dignity. We empowering families and bringing hope to communities.
